TRANQUILITY PRE-RACE TRAIL DAY

There will be a trail work day at Tranquility, Saturday August 2nd at 9:00 a.m. Hopefully the early start will help us beat some of the heat and we should be able to finish up in a couple hours. Right now the course is in pretty good shape and we are just going to knock off some sharp top edges of the rutted areas caused by all the heavy rains and prime the course in advance of the Tranquility Tire Tantrum Race August 16. Tools needed will be Mcleod fire rakes, hoes, and shovels. I will have trash bags on site for a light litter pick up and a couple of rakes to clear pine cones from the trail in a few of the wooded sections. If you would like to bring a weed eater or pruning shears I'm sure they will also be helpful. Bring your bikes and get a few laps in afterwards. Please meet in the Fort Street parking lot at 9:00. Everyone is welcome and any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much,
Doug

Sweet, a workday that i have off!

Can we do an email blast on these trail work days? I've talked to some people that don't check the blog very often then would have been out to trail days if they knew about them. Also wondering if bike shops are included in the emails? Maybe if we could include them in the bulk emails they could post something in the shops to get us more workers.

Hope we can get some more workdays at Manawa that i can make. Walked out there Sunday and people are making their own trails around the trees. It would take a large force of workers to get that place rideable by raceday...
